Jordan’s King Abdullah II has reiterated his country’s unwavering position on the Palestinian cause and the need to achieve a just solution to it through establishing an independent sovereign and viable Palestinian state on the 1967 borderlines and with east Jerusalem as its capital.
The Jordanian King made the remarks on Monday during two separate teleconference meetings with the chairpersons and members of the UK House of Commons committees on foreign affairs and defense according to the website of King Abdullah II.
He stressed that any unilateral Israeli steps aimed at annexing Palestinian lands in the West Bank is unacceptable and would undermine the prospects of achieving peace and stability in the Middle East.
The King also discussed with the British lawmakers different issues of mutual interest including the strategic relations between Jordan and Britain and other regional developments.
