Jordanian prisoners in Israeli jails deprived of seeing families

Saturday 9-July-2022

The Eid al-Adha holiday has come while the Jordanian prisoners in Israeli jails still suffer from harsh incarceration conditions and are deprived of seeing their families or contacting them.

After six years of detention in Israeli jails Jordanian ex-detainee Osaid Abu Khudair was able recently to see his family and daughter in the occupied West Bank after the Israeli occupation authority prevented him from returning to his country following his release.

According to Osaid the Israeli decision to prohibit him from going back to Jordan was taken with no known reason after he was released last June.

Despite its happiness to see him after his liberation his family said its joy was incomplete because of the Israeli ban on his travel to Jordan.

His brother Anas Abu Khudair told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that the Israeli measure against Osaid was unjust and illegal appealing to the Jordanian ministry of foreign affairs to take action to ensure his brother’s return to the country.

Osaid Abu Khudair’s issue is an example of the suffering experienced by other Jordanian prisoners who are deprived of seeing their families during their presence in Israeli jails and could face a measure similar to the one taken against Abu Khudair after their release.
