Journalists injured as IOF quells Ramallah protest

Tuesday 4-September-2018

A number of Palestinian journalists chocked on teargas on Tuesday when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) quelled a protest near Ofer prison west of Ramallah in solidarity with a detained journalist.

The protest was organized by Palestinian Journalists Union and Palestinian Broadcasting Corporation and was attended by dozens of Palestinian journalists who voiced support to their colleague Ali Dar Ali who is being held in Israeli jails.

Head of Palestinian Journalists Union Naser Abu Baker said in a speech that Israel repeatedly targets Palestinian journalists in an attempt to cover up its crimes against the Palestinian people.

“We will continue to work with the International Federation of Journalists and human rights organizations to pressure Israel to release our detained journalists” he added.

The IOF arrested Ali Dar Ali from his house on 15th August and accused him of incitement.
