Kaila: 21 deaths 2200 new cases of COVID-19 in Palestine

The Palestinian minister of health Mai al-Kaila announced on Monday that 21 deaths 2200 new cases of the coronavirus were recorded during the past 24 hours.

Kaila said in the daily epidemiological report of coronavirus that 11 deaths and 1698 news cases were recorded in the Gaza Strip while 10 deaths and 502 new cases were recorded in the West Bank.

She pointed out that there are 74 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units while 192 others are treated in the West Bank’s COVID-19 sections in various hospitals including 18 who have been placed on ventilators.

The recovery rate of the coronavirus reached 92.3 percent while the rate of active infections reached 6.7 percent and the death rate was 1 percent of all infections the minister said.

Regarding the vaccination campaign the total number of people who received the corona vaccine in the West Bank and Gaza Strip reached 1372528 including 699342 who received the two doses of the vaccine the minister concluded.

Kaila had announced in a press release on Sunday that 300000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine were sent to the Gaza Strip. She appealed to citizens who did not get the vaccine yet to do so the soonest.
