Mai Al-Kailah the Palestinian Minister of Health announced on Wednesday that 16 deaths and 2188 new infections of coronavirus were recorded in Palestine after conducting 9567 examinations during the past 24 hours.
She stated in the daily epidemiological report of coronavirus that the new cases were distributed geographically to 1453 infections in the West Bank and 735 in the Gaza Strip.
Kailah said that 1051 recoveries were recorded 696 of them were in the West Bank and 355 cases in the Gaza Strip.
The minister noted that the recovery rate of coronavirus reached 76.6 percent while the rate of active infections reached 22.5 percent and the death rate was 0.9% of all infections.
The 16 new corona deaths were distributed as follows: al-Khalil 2 Nablus 2 Ramallah 2 suburbs of Jerusalem 1 Tulkarem 1 and Jenin 1 in addition to 7 deaths in the Gaza Strip according to the minister.
Kailah pointed out that there are 67 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units including 14 who have been placed on ventilators.
