Mai Al-Kailah the Palestinian Minister of Health announced on Tuesday that the epidemiological situation of the coronavirus is heading towards a fourth wave noting that the National Epidemiology Committee discussed giving a third booster dose of the vaccine.
Kailah said that the committee discussed expanding the target groups for the anti-coronavirus vaccination and the policies that can be taken to give a third dose of the vaccine to the most vulnerable people.
She added that the other variants of the coronavirus are spreading including the Delta and Delta Plus variants.
The minister called on citizens to adhere to all preventive measures such as wearing masks and social distancing.
Kailah pointed out that there is a great discrepancy in the rate of receiving vaccinations between the northern provinces West Bank and southern provinces Gaza Strip.
She stressed the need to work with relevant authorities and partners to encourage the public to receive vaccinations especially in the Gaza Strip.
