Former Vice President of the Islamic Movement in 1948 Occupied Palestine Sheikh Kamal al-Khatib called for taking a serious action for the confrontation of the escalated incursions into al-Aqsa Mosque by Jewish settlers.
In a statement on Saturday Khatib said that Israel has been trying to divide the holy site temporally and spatially through imposing a de facto policy. He warned of the involvement of some Arab leaders in this project who have started discussing an alternative capital of Palestine rather than Jerusalem.
Khatib considered the Palestinian official position towards Jerusalem as a futile stance. However he counted on the Palestinian people for protecting and defending the holy city.
Khatib also asked Arab and Muslim peoples to support and adhere to Occupied Jerusalem.
