Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and settlers systematically attack the residents of Khirbet al-Taybeh in Tarqumiya town west of al-Khalil demolishing agricultural rooms and leveling lands.
The Israeli demolitions are part of attempts to seize more Palestinian lands for building settlements in implementation of what is known as the annexation plan.
Muhammad al-Muraqotun one of the farmers affected by the IOF attacks confirmed that al-Taybeh is one of the areas threatened by the occupation’s annexation plan. This prevents farmers from building on their own land.
Only recently Muraqotun was surprised by the presence of a group of IOF soldiers accompanied by several bulldozers that demolished several houses and agricultural rooms in Khirbet al-Taybeh.
He pointed out that a very short period was given to farmers to empty some of their contents from the rooms in absolute disregard to the feelings of the owners of the destroyed rooms.
Al-Taybeh enjoys a strategic location as it is located between Beit Ula and Dura. This makes it a target of IOF and its settlers who are trying to seize its land to construct settlements Muraqotun added.
For his part Abdul Qadir Jaafra affirmed his ownership of a piece of land in the village and stressed that he has the full right to work in his land and build whatever he wants.
“We used to visit our lands for 3 months a year. However now we have been residing here for 4 continuous years to repel the Israeli attacks and attempts to control the land” Jaafra stressed.
Taybeh is located to the east of Tarqumiya 10 km to the west of al-Khalil city.
