MP Jamal al-Khudari head of the Popular Committee against the Siege has called on UN special coordinator Nickolay Mladenov to work on sending an airborne medical aid convoy to the besieged Gaza Strip.
In a press release on Sunday MP Khudari described Mladenov’s warnings about the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza as “important and realistic but insufficient and in need of practical steps.”
The head of the anti-siege committee appealed to Mladenov to instruct all UN and international health and humanitarian institutions to start sending medical supplies to Gaza by air
He pointed out that about 50 percent of basic medicines and about 60 percent of medical consumables became completely out of stock in public hospitals laboratories and blood banks.
