Labor to join Likud-led coalition

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– The Israeli Labor party has agreed to join a Likud-led coalition government under chairmanship of Benjamin Netanyahu following intensive talks between the two sides Hebrew press reported on Tuesday.

Israeli premier-designate on Monday started fresh talks with Labor leader Ehud Barak to avoid the formation of a wholly right-wing government that might lead to sharp differences with the US on the Middle East peace process.

The Hebrew press noted that Likud officials met with Labor counterparts only few hours after the fanatic religious party Shas agreed to join the coalition.
