Saturday 3-March-2018

Residents of Kfarchouba and Hebbariye villages located on the Lebanese-Palestinian border held a protest on Friday with the participation of delegations from Lebanese and Palestinian institutions in support of Jerusalem.

During the protest organized by the Islamic Group Sheikh Jihad Hamad condemned in a speech the US president Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

For his part Kfarchouba mayor Qasem Qadri said that his village used to be a base for Palestinian resistance adding that Kfarchouba was destroyed five times in the past and that hundreds were killed in defense of the Palestinian cause.

In a speech on behalf of Hamas movement Bassam Khalaf stressed that Jerusalem is an occupied Palestinian territory and neither the US nor any other state has the right to determine its future.

The leader in the Islamic Group Hasan Atawi called for unified efforts and actions to confront the US-Israeli schemes.

Trump on 6th December 2017 decided to recognize Jerusalem with its eastern and western parts as Israel’s capital. He recently announced his intention to move his country’s embassy in Israel to the holy city on 14th May sparking widespread Arab Islamic and international condemnation.
