A Hamas delegation led by member of the Palestinian Legislative Council Mahmoud Zahhar met with the President of the Progressive Socialist Party of Lebanon Walid Joumblatt at his home in Clemenceau.
Joumblatt condemned a US draft resolution to be submitted at the United Nations to categorize Hamas as a terrorist movement saying Hamas is a movement of national liberation that draws its legitimacy from the Palestinian anti-occupation struggle.
During the visit Dr. Zahhar hailed Jumblatt’s outspoken pro-Palestine standpoint and solidarity with the Palestinians.
The Hamas delegation updated Joumblatt about the calamitous situation endured by the Palestinian people particularly in the Gaza Strip due to Israel’ 12-year long blockade.
Zahhar stressed Palestinians’ right to resistance until the liberation of Palestine sees the day.
