Israeli war minister Avigdor Lieberman has appointed a former official at the Mossad spy agency as his envoy to the Arab world.
Israel’s Channel 10 said that former Mossad official Eric Ben Haim was chosen as Lieberman’s “special envoy” to the Middle East to handle contacts with the Arab world on the Palestine cause.
The channel claimed that the Ben Haim’s first mission would be to explore ways during his meeting with Arab officials to deal with Gaza and to contain its protests.
Such an appointment is considered the first of its kind in Israel according to the channel.
