The new regularization bill which was approved by the Israeli Knesset falls in line with Israeli violations against Palestinian land and aims at legalizing land theft according to MP Ahmad Attoun.
Attoun a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council and a Jerusalemite who was exiled from his hometown by the Israeli occupation authorities pointed out in a press release that this new law opens the door for stealing more Palestinian land in a legalized manner in both Jerusalem and the West Bank.
The Israeli bill was approved despite the UN Security Council resolution that demands an end to Israeli building of settlements in the occupied Palestinian lands deeming them illegal.
Yuli-Yoel Edelstein Speaker of the Knesset said at the end of the voting session that 60 MK voted in favor 52 MK voted against and eight MK were absent including Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu.
“This vote helps Israel in achieving its lifelong dream of establishing an Israeli state on all Palestinian lands in addition to uprooting the Palestinians from their lands and homes. Legislative judicial and executive institutions are conforming to help Israel in implementing its schemes starting with legalizing Palestinian land theft” according to Attoun.
“This legalization contradicts with Geneva and Rome agreements in addition to UNSC resolutions regarding halting all settlement activities in Palestine” he pointed out.
These practices must be confronted by means other than condemnation Attoun said while calling on the Arab and Islamic countries along with the world community to assume their responsibility toward what is happening in Palestine.
