Palestinian lawmaker Ibrahim Dahbour has criticized the Palestinian Authority (PA) and the Fatah Movement for their renewed trust in the US administration and called it “a waste of time.”
In press remarks on Friday Dahbour said the new US administration would not be different from its predecessors and would retain the bias in favor of the Israeli occupation state at the expense of the Palestinian people’s rights and national cause.
“The US administration’s contacts with Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas have brought nothing new to the table where it reemphasized the need for a Palestinian return to negotiations without making preconditions or demanding a halt to settlement construction and called for necessarily fighting the resistance” the lawmaker stated.
He urged the Palestinian Authority to side with its own people and their leaders and work with them to achieve the national unity and partnership and build a strong internal front to confront the occupation and deal with any resulting complications.
“While the occupation government persists in imposing new faits accomplis that are difficult to overcome or change it has become our duty to uphold our constants and the pillars of our existence and to firmly cling to our land even if we give our lives as a price for refusing to leave it” he said.
