AL-KHALIL (PIC)– The Israeli occupation authority on Thursday released the Palestinian MP Hatem Qufaisha from Al-Khalil district after spending four months of administrative detention without trial or charge.
Qufaisha was kidnapped only two months after being released from jail where he served almost two years of administrative detention.
The MP is the only one from the 12 kidnapped lawmakers including the speaker Dr. Aziz Dwaik from Al-Khalil district who was released from occupation jails. All 12 are members of the change and reform bloc affiliated with the Hamas Movement.
Qufaisha suffered several health problems during his detention topped by hypertension and diabetes. The IOA refused to allow his transfer to hospital at the pretext that his detention period was not defined.
The PLC member was arrested many times at the hands of the IOA and spent more than 90 months in different administrative detention periods and was among those deported to Marj Al-Zuhur in south Lebanon in 1991.
