Palestinian lawmaker Nayef al-Rajoub strongly denounced minister of local government Hussein al-A’arj for making insulting remarks against al-Khalil citizens and describing them as spies and settlers.
In press remarks MP Rajoub said that al-A’arj’ remarks accused the Palestinian people of treason and violated the national and political norms affirming that it was not appropriate for a Palestinian minister to verbally attack his own people.
He called on the Palestinian government to remove him immediately from office in response to the demand of the Palestinian street.
“If there is a government respecting itself and its people it should respond to the popular demands and ax minister al-A’araj and sue him for insulting more than one million Palestinians living in al-Khalil” the lawmaker said.
He saluted the “honorable” position of the major families and leaders of the factions in al-Khalil province for insisting on dismissing the minister.
