The Israeli occupation authority has extended the administrative detention order against the Hamas leader Khaled Tafesh from the town of Za’tara in Bethlehem on Sunday for the fifth time running.
The Israeli military court in Ofer had extended the administrative detention order against MP Tafesh for three months for the fourth time in a row in early February 2022.
Tafesh 58 a former prisoner was arrested by the occupation authority several times and has spent more than 14 years in its prisons.
In 2006 Tafesh was elected as a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council. He was then arrested several times and mostly held in administrative detention without trial or charge.
Since then 60 Palestinian MPs were detained by Israeli authorities for various periods mostly in administrative detention.
