Palestinian citizens in Madama village in southern Nablus prevented an attack on their homes by extremist Jewish settlers on Friday evening.
Local official Ghassan Daghlas said that Madama villagers fended off Jewish extremists from the illegal settlement of Yitzhar as they tried to infiltrate into their village and attack homes and property.
Daghlas added that violent clashes broke out with Israeli soldiers who showered the villagers with tear gas and opened fire at them to protect the settlers.
Several towns and villages in Nablus especially Madama Burin Asira al-Qibliya and Urif are exposed to repeated violent attacks by Yitzhar settlers who receive support from the Israeli occupation army.
