Madhoon invites Arab League to send its fact-finding committee to Gaza

Tuesday 17-July-2007

GAZA (PIC)– Dr. Mohammed Al-Madhoon chairman of the legitimate PA premier’s office has called on the Arab League to send its fact-finding committee to Gaza to have a first hand report on what happened there.

Madhoon who is also acting chairman of the civil servants bureau said that what happened in Gaza was not a “coup” but rather a series of security events that led to that result.

He affirmed in a lecture at a summer camp for secondary school students in Gaza Monday evening that there is no battle between Hamas and Fatah movements underlining that dialogue is the best option to solve all pending issues on the basis of restructuring security apparatuses and establishing a strong national unity government.

Hamas fighters swept all PA security apparatuses in the Gaza Strip in mid June to end the rampant security mess in the Strip and to check the corrupt elements that used to ignite such chaos. The Strip has been living since then a state of security and tranquility not known for decades according to residents’ testimonies.

Madhoon also deplored PA chief Mahmoud Abbas’s decision to cancel contracts of thousands of civil servants which deprived tens of thousands of Palestinians from their livelihood. He said that such a step was deepening the separation between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank and widening the gap between Fatah and Hamas making it more and more difficult to return things to normal.

It is regretful that the step came in harmony with the Zio-American siege of the Palestinian people which would only weaken the Palestinian steadfastness in service of the Zio-American agenda he elaborated.
