Major PA factions refuse to grant Israel one-sided truce

GAZA (PIC)– The five main Palestinian resistance factions agreed during a meeting with PA chief Mahmoud Abbas and premier Ismail Haneyya late Wednesday evening at the presidential headquarters in Gaza city to unite the resistance tactics and activities but refused to grant Israel a unilateral truce.

In confirmation of the Palestinian national unity the leaders of Hamas Fatah the Islamic Jihad and the Popular and the Democratic Fronts asserted during the meeting their rejection of any unilateral truce with IOF unless it was reciprocated in all Palestinian lands.

The factions also agreed to consolidate the ceasefire internally to end all armed rallies and to implement the Palestinian security plan providing that it be followed up by a joint operations room. The participants also discussed the issue of the Israeli military aggression on the Palestinian people as well as the suffering of the Palestinian refugees in the camps in Lebanon.

For his part Nabil Abu Rudeineh the PA presidential spokesman affirmed that the Palestinians demanded a comprehensive and simultaneous calm abided by all Palestinian factions on condition that Israel ends assassinations incursions and all acts of vandalism.

“All factions blessed the internal calm and the formation of a follow-up commission to monitor the ceasefire” Ibrahim Abul-Naja chairman of the higher gollow-up committee stated. He also affirmed that the Palestinians could never accept the truce while the Israeli warplanes continued to threaten and attack Gaza.
