March in holy city in solidarity with Jerusalemite officials facing expulsion

Sunday 18-July-2010

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– Amid tight Israeli security measures hundreds of Palestinian citizens participated in a march on Saturday in solidarity with the Palestinian officials threatened with eviction from occupied Jerusalem.

The citizens marched towards the sit-in tent pitched in the courtyard of the Red Cross headquarters in Jerusalem chanting slogans against the exile policy pursued by Israel against the Jerusalem people.

Mohamed Zeidan the head of the high follow up committee for Arab citizens stated during the event that this march reflected the official position of all Palestinian parties in Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied lands.

Zeidan added that the march was also a message to the Israeli occupation that the people of Jerusalem would always be adherent to their holy city despite all its Judaization activities.

He called on Mahmoud Abbas to raise the issue of the Palestinian officials facing exile in his meeting with US envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell and guarantee that they would not be expelled from their hometown.
