Dozens of Palestinian citizens on Friday evening laid to rest a Palestinian young woman in the West Bank city of al-Khalil after the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) released her body.
The funeral procession of 24-year-old Maha Za’tari headed from Al-Ahli Hospital in al-Khalil then to her family’s home and then to her final resting place in the Al-Shohada (martyrs) graveyard.
Earlier in the afternoon the IOA released the body of martyr Za’tari. Her body has been detained since the 10th of April 2022 when she was shot dead by the Israeli occupation soldiers near the Al-Ibrahimi Mosque in the center of the Old City of al-Khalil.
The IOA is holding the bodies of 117 martyrs since 2016 while the bodies of 253 other martyrs are still buried in the Cemetery of Numbers the covert Israeli cemeteries where remains of Palestinian martyrs are interred.
