NABLUS (PIC)– MP Mushir Al-Masri the secretary general of the Hamas-affiliated “change and reform” bloc has confirmed that his bloc was embarking on parliamentary moves to prompt Arab officials into pressuring PA chief Mahmoud Abbas to return to dialogue with Hamas.
Masri revealed that a delegation of Hamas PLC members has held contacts with Arab MPs and they are now working on arranging meetings with a number of Arab officials to brief them on the real situation in the Palestinian arena and to urge them to assume their role in following up their financial aid they had granted to the Palestinian people.
On behalf of Hamas he welcomed the Egyptian leadership’s decision to dispatch its security delegation to the Gaza Strip to resume its historical leading role in the Palestinian arena within ten days.
In another development the Hamas official spokesman in the West Bank has condemned in a press release Abbas’s insistence on “criminalizing” the Palestinian resistance and issuing “pathetic” decrees.
“We are surprised by this blind obstinacy of Mr. Mahmoud Abbas and his insistence on holding the resistance and its fighters responsible for the security mess and the abduction of journalists despite the resistance’s reputation for protecting journalists and media institutions and ensuring their freedom of movement to expose the Israeli crimes” the spokesman stated.
He pointed out that Gaza is witnessing an unprecedented security stability which is disliked by some people.
