Masri charges Fatah quarters with targeting Hamas leaders cadres

Wednesday 13-December-2006

GAZA (PIC)– MP Mushir Al-Masri secretary of the Hamas-affiliated change and reform parliamentary bloc has accused certain quarters within Fatah faction of attempting to plunge the Palestinian internal arena into total anarchy.

The lawmaker said that statements by those quarters which he said were planning a coup against the legitimate Hamas-led PA government aimed at creating confusion in the Palestinian arena and toppling the PA government.

He said that the assassination assault and kidnap of Hamas leaders and PLC members were the result of a number of Fatah leaders and MPs defamation campaigns against the Palestinian government.

Masri drew the attention to the fact that the provocative campaigns had coincided with Fatah leaders in which they declared failure of the dialogue to form a national unity government. “It was a clear attempt to bring back the state of chaos and security mess in the Palestinian arena through armed demonstrations” the MP elaborated.

He urged the PA presidency premiership and interior ministry to shoulder their responsibility in checking those attacks affirming “We refuse exploiting the blood of victims to achieve certain political ends”.
