The Israeli occupation forces on Sunday evening detained staff members of al-Tawani Village Council and a number of workers east of al-Khalil’s southern town of Yatta.
Coordinator for the National Anti-Settlement Committee Rateb al-Jabour said the Israeli army detained the head of al-Tawani’s Village Council Mohamed Rub’i along with two members—Mahmoud al-Hamamda and Ismail al-Amour.
A number of Palestinian workers were also detained by the occupation forces while they were carrying out maintenance work along the access road between al-Tawani and Yatta’s eastern corners.
The reasons for the detention of the activists and workers remain unknown so far.
