An Israeli military watchtower south of al-Khalil city caught fire at dawn Friday after Palestinian young men hurled homemade firebombs at it.
According to local sources the watchtower at the main entrance to al-Fawwar refugee camp was ablaze after angry young protesters attacked it with several Molotov cocktails.
The sources said that the young men attacked the military post after Israeli troops stormed al-Fawwar camp and embarked on firing live ammunition and tear gas grenades at residents.
Several local residents suffered from exposure to tear gas fumes during the soldiers’ raid.
