Head of Hamas’s foreign political bureau Khaled Mishaal affirmed that attacking and beating the mourners in the funeral procession of Shireen Abu Akleh is a barbaric act that reflects Israel’s sadist policy.
“Assassinating the (Al Jazeera journalist) Shireen Abu Akleh who spent 25 years of her life covering the Israeli crimes is a brutal crime that violates freedom of speech” Mishaal told al-Quds newspaper on Monday affirming that the cold-blooded murder of Abu Akleh and all the martyrs in Jenin will not go unpunished.
Mishaal hailed the unity of the Palestinian people while confronting the Israeli attacks on the funeral procession of Abu Akleh stressing that Israel must be prosecuted at the international criminal court for its criminal practices that violate international norms and conventions.
On the first anniversary of the Saif al-Quds battle Mishaal called on the Palestinian people and factions to continue confronting the Israeli attacks on Jenin and the al-Aqsa Mosque until there is no place for the invaders confirming that resistance is the only way to liberate the Palestinians’ holy sites and regain their rights.
He added that the Israeli grave crimes committed against the Palestinian people in Jerusalem and the West Bank require setting up a plan based on national unity and resistance.
