Former head of Hamas’s Political Bureau Khaled Mishaal on Tuesday said that resistance is a human political and legal right for the peoples under occupation.
During a speech he delivered through the video conference at a seminar held by the Islamic University of Gaza under the title “Between Resistance and Politics” Mishaal said that Gaza has its own mark in the struggle although the Palestinian resistance lacks the power that Israel has.
Mishaal shed light on the Great March of Return and the Palestinian protesters’ use of fire balloons and the role they are playing in breaking the unjust siege in Gaza. He noted that Hamas fully supports the popular resistance without giving up the armed one.
He stressed that occupied nations cannot be liberated and rights cannot be restored without resistance. “We are a people under occupation and resistance is a strategic choice. Without resistance nations cannot be liberated. This is an indisputable fact” he added.
He explained that Israel withdrew from Sinai southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip because of the resistance it was met with adding that it is Jerusalem and the West Bank’s turn.
The Hamas leader stressed the need for ending security coordination between the Palestinian Authority and the Israeli occupation army since it helps the latter crack down on Palestinian resistance groups in the West Bank.
