Former head of Hamas’s political bureau Khaled Mishaal has warned that the aging and impotence of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) are detrimental to the Palestinian cause holding the Palestinian leadership fully responsible for that.
Mishaal made his remarks in a speech he delivered from Doha addressing the Palestinian National Security Conference in Gaza on Thursday.
“The state of weakness and slackness that has hit the national institutions in general especially the PLO is one of the ailments that have befallen the national project” the Hamas leader stated.
He expressed his dismay and regret that the regional and international interest in the Palestinian cause had declined saying such situation weakened the national project and raised its challenges.
Mishaal also condemned some regional countries for hurrying after Israel asking for its blessing and dealing with it as part of the solution and not part of the problem and as a friend and ally to the nation.
