Mishaal: The battle with the occupation is not over yet

Wednesday 18-May-2022

Head of Hamas’s foreign political bureau Khaled Mishaal has affirmed that the Palestinian people will not allow the Israeli occupation state to Judaize or divide the Aqsa Mosque.

In an interview conducted with him on al-Aqsa Satellite channel on Tuesday Mishaal said that the Palestinian people feel proud as they defend Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque stressing that the battle with the occupation is not over yet and the dangers still exist.

He said that the occupation forces’ assaults on Palestinian martyrs’ funerals after killing them and the Israeli attempts to obliterate the Palestinian presence in Jerusalem “reflect this enemy’s fears over its future.”

“The occupation wanted to hurt us on the Nakba anniversary but it hurt and exposed itself in front of the entire world and the funerals of Shireen Abu Akleh and Walid al-Sharif made the world know its true (terrorist) nature” the Hamas leader said.

“Some officials in Europe speak wrongly about freedom of worship and we like to tell them that the Aqsa Mosque is ours exclusively” he added.

“They (Jewish settlers) have two festivals in the near future and we expect massive break-ins at the Aqsa Mosque so our Palestinian people have to be vigilant. This enemy seeks to impose its authority over the Mosque and we will never allow that to happen” he pointed out.

The Hamas official also highlighted the Palestinian popular unity on the ground affirming that such field unity should be strengthened with political unity calling on the Palestinian Authority to work on unifying the Palestinian political system at home and abroad especially the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
