Political Bureau Head of Hamas Khaled Mishaal called Wednesday for a unified anti-occupation strategy to rehabilitate the Palestinian cause after peace talks have reached a deadlock.
Speaking during the Fourth Annual Conference on the Palestinian National Security Mishaal said the Israeli occupation can only be ousted if a real national unity sees the day.
“There is no way out of the internal rift without a real national partnership so as to build our life and politics on a democratic basis” said Mishaal. “We have to be partners in taking up the responsibility and in war/peace decision-making.”
The Hamas leader highlighted that 100 years have passed by since the notorious Balfour Declaration saw the day On Friday Nov. 2 1917 but the Palestinian people have remained steadfast at all stages of the national liberation struggle.
Mishaal added that the Israeli occupation has entered a phase of self-doubting and seeks to snatch legitimacy by all means possible.
Mishaal also said it is high time the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) opted for a cohesive national political strategy.
“Hamas longs for a real cooperation with strong partners” Mishaal stated. “The Palestinians deserve a leadership that works around the clock to protect the people and the cause.”
Mishaal further stressed the need to stand on guard against the Israeli aggressions on the holy al-Aqsa Mosque illegal settlement schemes the tough blockade on Gaza and crackdowns on the detainees.
