Political bureau chairman of Hamas Khaled Mishaal congratulated on Saturday the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on the return of 26 Qatari nationals held captive in Iraq.
According to QNA news agency the Emir of Qatar received a telephone call from Mishaal to offer congratulations on the safe return back home of Qatari citizens who were kidnapped in Iraq.
26 Qatari nationals held hostage by Iraqi militias were taken home to Qatar on Friday afternoon.
Media reports have connected the fate of the hostages to a complex deal brokered in part by the Qatari government.
