Head of Hamas’s political bureau Khaled Mishaal has congratulated Turkish president Recep Erdogan on the success of the popular referendum on constitutional amendments.
According to the website of Hamas Mishaal talked over the phone with the Turkish president after the referendum results were announced.
“During the phone call Mishaal wished Turkey its leadership and people more success progress and prosperity” the website said.
Preliminary results released by the Turkish Supreme Electoral Committee on Sunday morning stated that 24763516 voted yes for the constitutional amendments and 23511155 said no.
However the final results will be announced within a maximum of 11 or 12 days after looking into the objections filed by opposition parties.
