Dozens of Palestinian citizens were injured on Friday by live and rubber-coated metal bullets while others suffered breathing problems during confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) near Mount Sobeih south of Nablus.
Ahmed Jibril the director of ambulance and emergency at the Palestinian Red Crescent in Nablus stated that the medical teams treated 113 injuries.
Jibril stated that the injuries varied between 16 injuries by live bullets 20 by rubber-coated metal bullets four injuries from beatings by the IOF soldiers and 73 suffered breathing difficulties.
He pointed out that a young man was seriously injured by a bullet in his neck and was taken to hospital.
Meanwhile local sources reported that clashes broke out between IOF and young men in the Bab al-Zawiya area in al-Khalil. IOF fired tear gas bombs sound bombs and rubber bullets at the civilians.
The sources pointed out that the IOF soldiers arrested a number of civilians during the confrontations.
In Ni’lin west of Ramallah eyewitness said that confrontations erupted in the southern area of the town adjacent to the Separation Wall. Two people were wounded by live bullets and taken for treatment.
The IOF soldiers fired live bullets tear gas and sound bombs which led to a fire in a farmland.
IOF quelled the weekly Kafr Qaddoum march against settlements and closure of the village’s main street which has been closed for more than 18 years.
Participants raised the flag of Palestine and chanted slogans calling for the escalation of the popular resistance.
Local sources said that IOF soldiers fired tear gas canisters at the marchers. Several of them suffered breathing problems and were treated in the field.
