Mother and wife of political prisoner in PA jail go on hunger strike

The mother of political prisoner Abdul-Rahman Shahin and his wife have gone on open-ended hunger strike until the Palestinian Authority (PA) release him from its jail in Salfit.

The mother of Shahin said on video that she and her daughter-in-law decided to go on hunger strike to demand the release of her son from the prison of the PA preventive security apparatus in Salfit.

The elderly mother added that a PA court refused to release her son at the pretext that he is a political prisoner appealing to human rights groups to intervene to have her son released.

This is the second Palestinian mother who go on hunger strike recently to pressure the PA to release her son.

A few days ago Khadija Fattash the mother of political prisoner Murad Fattash staged a hunger strike for several days which prompted the PA to release her son.

There are about 100 internees being held with no guilt in PA jails in the occupied West Bank.
