A Fatah senior official has denied Hebrew media reports that security coordination between Israeli occupation authorities and the Palestinian Authority (PA) will gradually increase as long as Muslims’ access to al-Aqsa Mosque remains unrestricted.
The Hebrew website Walla claimed that the PA preventive security apparatus in the West Bank foiled an attack planned by a Hamas member to be carried out in Occupied Jerusalem during the latest protests. It also referred to the continuation of arrest campaigns by the PA security forces against Hamas members and activists over the past period.
The member of Fatah Central Committee Jamal Muhaisen denied in a press release the news on the PA returning to security coordination after the removal of metal detectors from the gates of al-Aqsa Mosque.
Muhaisen said that Fatah leaders in Ramallah are considering the continuation of halting security coordination with the Israeli occupation authorities until a real positive development emerges on the peace process.
