MAKKAH (PIC)– Marking its 50th anniversary in Makkah the Muslim World League commended Turkey’s position on the issue in Palestine while condemning Israel’s “practices aimed at Judaizing Jerusalem and obliterating the Arab and Islamic identity of Palestine.”
The league closed the conference with a statement dedicated to the “genocide and starvation” experienced by Palestinians and the “unjust siege which disregards all moral standards and international conventions.”
The league called on the United Nations UNESCO and all “peace-loving” nations to intervene in Israel’s plans against the Aqsa Mosque and Judaization of Jerusalem also calling on Islamic governments and organizations and the media to let the world know that the Aqsa Mosque is “for the Muslims” being their first prayer direction and that the Arab Jebusites lived there first.
Muslim scholars who participated in the conference called for the creation of a “global legal committee” of experts to counter Israel’s oppression and violation of “human rights conventions and international law in Palestine.”
