BRUSSELS (PIC)– Federation of Muslim organizations in Europe has expressed the continent’s Muslims’ solidarity with Palestinian Jerusalemites and called for putting an immediate end to the 40-year-old Israeli occupation of Jerusalem city.
Remembering the 40th anniversary of the Israeli occupation of the holy city the federation issued a statement where it mentioned numerous IOA atrocities and desecration practices against the city and its legitimate inhabitants. The PIC obtained a copy of the statement.
It also deprecated Israel’s defiance of international laws and conventions regarding occupation of Palestinian lands and sanctity of Jerusalem affirming that recent IOA violent acts against the holy city and the Aqsa Mosque prove that Israel doesn’t respect international legitimacy.
The IOA had been working hard to distort the city’s Muslim landmarks gobbling more Palestinian lands to expand Israeli settlements encircling the holy city and forcing thousands of Palestinian families out of the city under false pretexts and reasons.
Few days ago Israeli domestic security minister Avi Dichter issued an arbitrary order banning Muslims from burying their dead in a Muslim cemetery near the Aqsa Mosque unmasking Israel’s racism against Muslims.
Moreover destruction of Palestinian homes in the city are underway as the Israeli occupation government pursues the construction of the apartheid separation wall around the city although it was deemed illegal by the International Court of Justice three years ago.
In this context the federation held the international community responsible for ending the Israeli occupation and for giving justice to the Palestinian people confirming European Muslims’ full support for the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people until they achieve independence and freedom.
Arab Muslim default deprecated:
In a related matter Mufti of Jerusalem and Palestine Sheikh Mohammed Hussein deplored Arab and Muslim default in defending and liberating occupied Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque.
He also affirmed that both Arab and Muslim Ummah failed to take serious and strong action against the occupation over that past four decades questioning the role of the OIC and the Quds committee in this regard.
In this concern Hussein reiterated that Palestine was and will remain the central issue of the Arab and Muslim Ummah adding that the Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem’s appeal for help should serve as a strong factor to unite Arabs and Muslims to consolidate ranks and to gear up for liberating them from the Israeli occupation.
