Nasr denies reports about Mishaal’s visit to Cairo

Sunday 15-March-2009

CAIRO (PIC)– Mohammed Nasr the political bureau member of Hamas Movement has denied press reports that Khaled Mishaal the Hamas supreme leader and Dr. Ramadan Shallah Islamic Jihad leader would visit Cairo to discuss national dialog problems.

Nasr told the PIC in Cairo on Sunday that the five Palestinian national dialog committees were still working on ironing out differences and would remain in Cairo until all their work is done.

He underlined that tangible progress was made in the conciliation and the PLO committees noting that a charter was reached on conciliation between all factions.

Any committee that finalizes its work will wait until the other committees finish their work because any final agreement shall be in the form of a package deal Nasr elaborated.

The Hamas leader pointed out that Mishaal and Shallah and other general secretaries of the Palestinian factions would only arrive in Cairo when all committees accomplished their missions to attend the signing ceremony of the final declaration of Palestinian reconciliation.

Media reports claimed that Egypt had extended official invitations to Mishaal and Shallah to visit Cairo and take part in the work of the five conciliation committees in order to reach compromise solutions to all issues discussed.
