Haaretz Hebrew newspaper revealed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told members of the Israeli foreign affairs and security parliamentary committee last Wednesday that the US President Donald Tump might pay a visit to Israel soon.
The newspaper website disclosed on Friday that the Special Envoy of Trump Jason Greenblatt will visit Israel next week in the first official visit in his capacity as the United States Special Representative for International Negotiations in order to reach understandings on settlement activity.
Netanyahu’s statements came shortly before the first phone call scheduled between Trump and Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday evening as announced by the White House.
The official spokesman of the PA Nabil Abu Rudaina said in a press statement that Abbas is going to assure Trump on his commitment to cooperation for the sake of achieving peace.
