Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday retracted his statements in which he said during a visit to India that the US would move its embassy to Occupied Jerusalem within a year. This came after the US President Donald Trump had refuted the news.
The electronic website of Yedioth Ahronoth Hebrew newspaper quoted an Israeli official in Netanyahu’s office as saying that “The premier recognizes that building a new embassy takes years but he believes that Washington is considering temporally measures that might lead to opening the embassy much sooner”.
Earlier on Wednesday Trump denied the news on some plans to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Occupied Jerusalem within a year.
