According to Israeli Channel 2 News on Wednesday Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has lifted the ban on members of the Israeli Knesset’s entry into al-Aqsa Mosque starting next week.
Channel 2 also revealed that the decision stipulates that Israeli MKs are allowed to “visit” the holy site on Tuesday as a pilot program to see if the security situation would allow the visits to resume for good.
The ban on Israeli MKs’ entry into al-Aqsa Mosque has been in place since October 2015 in light of the tension and violent clashes that prevailed in the occupied Palestinian territories including Occupied Jerusalem.
