Talks have been started between Hamas’s delegation to Cairo led by the head of the Movement’s Political Bureau Ismail Haneyya and Egypt to discuss bilateral relations and the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
The London-based al-Hayat newspaper said quoting well-informed sources that the talks will address the issues hindering the reconciliation process noting that a Fatah delegation is expected to join the talks later.
According to the sources the talks will include the files currently thwarting the Palestinian Authority government’s work in the Gaza Strip including employees security taxes electricity and crossings.
Sources from Hamas affirmed that national reconciliation is a strategic decision to the Movement that cannot be undone adding that Hamas will be completely understanding of the Egyptian proposals presented during the talks.
