New Israeli attacks in Bab Al-Amoud Sheikh Jarrah

Friday 18-February-2022

Jewish settlers and the police forces violently attacked Palestinians in Bab al-Amud area near al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem on Thursday evening during a provocative march in the area.

An elderly Palestinian man was injured during the event as large numbers of police forces were deployed in the area to protect the settlers’ provocative march in the occupied city.

During the march the settlers raised Israeli flags and chanted anti-Arab slogans while Israeli forces fired teargas bombs at Palestinian by-passers and stores.

Meanwhile Israeli policemen violently attacked Palestinians and peace activists stationed at Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.

Medics were prevented from reaching the area as a tight police siege was imposed around the neighborhood.

For the sixth day the Israeli police have been laying siege to the neighborhood and preventing Jerusalemite citizens from entering it or visiting their relatives while persisting in allowing extremist settlers Knesset members and officials to storm the neighborhood and assault local residents.

Despite such practices some supporters managed more than once to enter the neighborhood before they were forced to leave the area.
