Israeli police on Monday erected more caravans east of Occupied Jerusalem for the residents of Khan al-Ahmar village which is threatened with demolition.
Popular resistance activist Hani Halabiya said that teams from the so-called Civil Administration accompanied by Israeli police forces set up 13 mobile homes on privately-owned Palestinian lands near Abu Dis village on Monday.
Halabiya said that the total number of caravans brought to the area which was announced a closed military zone is 23 so far. Israeli police on Sunday set up a number of caravans in the same area.
The Palestinian activist expects that a forcible transfer operation is being planned not only against Khan al-Ahmar residents but also against the Palestinians of the nearby Abu al-Nawwar Bedouin community.
Israel’s Supreme Court on Thursday issued a precautionary order to freeze the demolition plan targeting Khan al-Ahmar until 11th July.
The same court in May ruled for demolishing the Bedouin community home to 190 Palestinians for allegedly being unlicensed.
