Nine Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli prisons continue on Saturday their open hunger strike rejecting their administrative detention.
Hassan Abd Rabbo the spokesman for the Prisoners and Ex-prisoners Affairs Authority said that the striking prisoners are suffering from deterioration in their health condition.
He pointed out that they suffer from weight loss severe fatigue and stress and headaches in addition to ill-treatment and abuse. They are isolated from the rest of the prisoners and prevented from meeting with their lawyers according to WAFA.
The striking prisoners and their periods of the hunger strike are listed as follows: Salem Zaidat 41 days Mujahid Hamid 39 days Kayed Fasfoos 38 days Miqdad Al-Qawasma 31 days Ahmed Mahamera 21 days Akram al-Fasfoos 17 days and Alaa al-Araj 14 days.
The prisoner Ra’fat Al-Darawish suspended on Friday his open hunger strike which lasted for 37 days after reaching an agreement with the Israeli prison administration to release him on December 7.
The prisoner Youssef Al-Amer also suspended his strike on Thursday after 22 days after he reached an agreement to set a ceiling for his administrative detention.
