GAZA (PIC)– Palestinian premier in Gaza Ismail Haneyya is to participate in the Non-Aligned Movement’s summit conference scheduled to open in Tehran by the end of the month the government’s spokesman Taher Al-Nunu said Saturday.
Nunu told the PIC that Haneyya would participate in his capacity as the elected prime minister of Palestine. “We urge all to respect the Palestinian people’s democratic choice” he added.
Haneyya had received an official invitation from the Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to attend the summit.
The PA in Ramallah announced that president Mahmoud Abbas would not attend the conference if Haneyya was invited.
