OHCHR shocked over extrajudicial killing of Palestinian in J’lem

Sunday 5-December-2021

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in the occupied Palestinian territory has expressed its shock at the extrajudicial execution of 23-year-old Mohamed Salima by Israeli police forces in Occupied Jerusalem.

“Extrajudicial killings such as this are the consequence of the regular resort to lethal force by well-armed and well-protected Israeli security personnel against Palestinians and the almost total lack of accountability for killings and injuries of Palestinians by Israeli forces” an OHCHR statement read.

“Will there be accountability in this case? OHCHR said adding that it would follow up on the incident.

Video footage went viral on social media showing Israeli police officers cold-bloodedly shooting Salima at point-blank range until he died.

While lying wounded on the ground Israeli police officers shot him twice killing him instantly. Medics were also denied access to the scene to provide him with first aid.
