The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly denounced the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) for closing the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil City to Muslim worshipers and preventing the Mosque’s Adhan (call to prayer).
In a statement on Sunday the OIC also deplored Jewish settlers’ aggressive and provocative practices that had been happening under military protection in the Old City of al-Khalil and involved attacks on Palestinian citizens their property and holy sites since Saturday evening.
The OIC held the IOA fully responsible for the consequences of such barbaric settler attacks on the Palestinian people and the persistent desecration of the Islamic holy sites.
It appealed to the international community to take urgent action to put an end to such Israeli practices that fuel violence tension and instability in the occupied territories.
